Important Day for CBSE Class 12 Students


New Delhi: Today marks a significant occasion for students taking the CBSE Class 12 board exams. The Chemistry exam is set to take place today, February 28, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Approximately 25 lakh students will participate across 7,574 centers nationwide. To pass, students must secure at least 33 percent of the total marks, with the board having the discretion to award one or two additional marks if necessary.


Entry Closes at 10 AM

According to the guidelines, all students must arrive at their examination centers by 10 AM. Entry will close promptly at this time, so candidates should ensure they are there beforehand. A reading time of 15 minutes will be provided from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM before the exam commences.


Key Instructions for the CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam

Teachers have highlighted common mistakes that could lead to a deduction of five to eight marks. These include writing incorrect IUPAC names, omitting steps in chemical conversions, neglecting units in numerical answers, using incorrect symbols for oxidation states, and misidentifying molecular geometry (for instance, writing tetrahedral instead of square planar).


Total of 25 Lakh Students Participating

The Class 12 examinations are scheduled from February 17 to April 10, 2026, with around 10.2 lakh boys and 8.3 lakh girls participating in this year's board exams out of a total of 25 lakh students.
