UPTET 2026: New Application Process and Requirements Explained
Overview of UPTET 2026 Application Process
UPTET 2026: The application window for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 opened on March 27, with a closing date set for April 26. The examination is slated for July 2, 3, and 4. This year's UPTET marks a return after a four-year hiatus, prompting the Commission to enforce strict measures to combat fraud, leading to notable changes in the online application process.
Key Changes in the Application Process
Let's delve into the specific modifications introduced for the UPTET 2026 online application. Candidates will now need to upload a "live photo" during their application, along with providing information about any twin siblings they may have.
Mandatory Disclosure of Twin Sibling Information
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has begun the application process for UPTET 2026, implementing several measures to enhance examination transparency. Candidates must disclose details about any twin siblings to aid in exam management. During the application, candidates will see an option to indicate whether they have a twin. If they select "No," they can continue with their application. However, selecting "Yes" requires them to provide specific information about their twin, including Aadhaar card details, identification, and whether the twin is also taking the UPTET.
Uploading a Live Photo
As part of the UPTET 2026 application, candidates must upload a "live photo" to verify their identity. This requirement aims to prevent photo alterations and ensure that no one else takes the exam on behalf of the applicant. Candidates can capture and upload their live photo using their mobile phone's selfie camera. Additionally, they can upload a photo by scanning a QR code generated during the application process.
To do this, candidates should click on the QR code provided in the application form, which will generate a second QR code. They must then scan this second QR code with their smartphone to upload a photo taken with their selfie camera.
