Bihar Police Launches Recruitment Drive for 15,821 Special Auxiliary Police Posts

The Bihar Police Headquarters is set to launch a recruitment drive for 15,821 Special Auxiliary Police positions, allowing retired CAPF personnel to apply for the first time. The recruitment rallies will take place from June 1 to June 6, 2026, across various divisions. Candidates must be Bihar residents and will not need to undergo a physical fitness test, although a medical examination is required. Selected individuals will receive competitive salaries and allowances. This initiative aims to bolster law enforcement in the state.
 

Bihar Police Recruitment Initiative



In a bid to enhance law enforcement in Bihar, the Bihar Police Headquarters has announced a significant recruitment initiative. This drive will fill 15,821 positions for Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) on a contractual basis throughout the state. Notably, this is the first time that retired members of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be eligible to apply, expanding the pool beyond just ex-servicemen.


The recruitment will be organized through rallies held by divisions. Those selected will receive a competitive honorarium, various allowances, and the chance to work in different departments. The Police Headquarters has published a comprehensive schedule and guidelines for the recruitment process.


Recruitment Rally Schedule

**Rally Dates: June 1-6, 2026**


The Bihar Police Headquarters has assigned the Army Employment Welfare Organization at Danapur Cantonment to oversee this recruitment. The rallies are set to occur daily from June 1 to June 6, 2026, between 6:30 AM and 4:00 PM.


Candidates from the Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Darbhanga divisions will attend on June 1. The Kosi, Munger, and Saran divisions will follow on June 2. Recruitment for the Tirhut division is scheduled for June 3, the Magadh division on June 4, and the Patna division districts on June 5 and 6.


Alternative for Missed Candidates

**Walk-In Interviews Available**


Candidates who cannot attend their designated recruitment rally will have the chance to participate in walk-in interviews held during the first week of each month.


Eligibility Requirements

**Who Can Apply?**


To qualify for this recruitment, candidates must be permanent residents of Bihar and provide a domicile certificate from a Circle Officer (Anchal Adhikari) as proof. Additionally, applicants should have experience with modern and automatic weapons. The recruitment will adhere to the state government's reservation policies.


**No Physical Test Required**


A unique aspect of this recruitment is that candidates will not need to pass a physical fitness test, although a medical examination is compulsory. Preference will be given to those with experience in disaster management, bomb disposal, driving, swimming, diving, and operating motorboats.


Compensation Structure

**Salary Information**


This recruitment will see the hiring of 148 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), 15,135 SAP personnel, and 538 cooks. JCOs will earn a monthly honorarium of ₹35,000, SAP personnel will receive ₹30,000, and cooks will be paid ₹25,000. Additional allowances for uniforms, travel, and other expenses will also be provided. Selected candidates will be contracted for one year, with the possibility of extension if necessary.
