Overview of UPTET 2026
UPTET 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test took place smoothly on July 2, 3, and 4. The written assessments for both Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6 to 8) levels were conducted under strict supervision, ensuring transparency. Out of 1,994,661 candidates who registered, 1,770,714 participated, leading to an impressive attendance rate of 88.77 percent.
Upper Primary Level Exam Attendance
Upper Primary Level Participation:
The Upper Primary exam was held in two shifts on July 2 and one shift on July 3. Of the 1,211,459 registered candidates, 1,057,055 attended, resulting in an attendance rate of 87.25 percent. Female candidates accounted for an attendance rate of 87.00 percent.
Primary Level Exam Attendance
Primary Level Participation:
The Primary level exam occurred during the second shift on July 3 and the first shift on July 4. Out of 783,202 registered candidates, 713,659 took part, achieving an attendance rate of 91.12 percent, with female candidates at 90.85 percent.
Exam Centers and Attendance
Exam Centers on July 4:
The examination was conducted at 955 centers during the first shift on July 4, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Of the 379,316 candidates registered for this shift, 334,775 appeared, resulting in an attendance rate of 88.00 percent.
Impersonation and Security Measures
Impersonators Caught:
To ensure the integrity of the examination, the Commission appointed observers, including retired IAS and IPS officers, across all 60 districts. Continuous monitoring was facilitated through an AI-integrated control room, with AI-enabled cameras overseeing candidate activities. Over the three days, 44 impersonators were apprehended, with the breakdown as follows:
- 14 impersonators on July 2
- 11 impersonators on July 3
- 19 impersonators on July 4
Additionally, on July 3, a candidate was caught attempting to cheat with a mobile phone inside the examination hall. All individuals involved have been handed over to local authorities for legal action.
Conclusion
A Transparent Examination Process:
The Commission emphasized that the examination was conducted with transparency, security, and adherence to schedule, free from malpractice. The successful execution of the exam was supported by the district administration, police, Vigilance Department, and Special Task Force (STF). The Commission expressed gratitude to all candidates, center superintendents, observers, and administrative officials for their cooperation.
