UPTET 2026 Registration: Exciting news for the numerous candidates in Uttar Pradesh aspiring to become educators. The online application process for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 has officially started today, March 27, 2026. This examination is being held after nearly five years, prompting the introduction of several new regulations and stricter measures to combat malpractice.

The application window for UPTET 2026 will close on April 26, 2026. Candidates can register, submit their applications, and pay the necessary fees until this date. Corrections to applications and fee-related issues must be resolved by May 1, 2026. The examination is scheduled to take place from July 2 to July 4, 2026.


Application Process

Where to Apply:


Candidates must apply exclusively through the official Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission website (www.upessc.up.gov.in). Applications submitted through any other means will not be accepted.


New Regulations Introduced

New Rules:


To improve transparency in the examination process, several new rules have been introduced. Notably, candidates must now declare if they have a twin sibling at the time of application. If they do, they are required to provide detailed information about their twin, including name, gender, identity proof, and whether the twin is also taking the exam.


Additionally, all candidates must upload a "live photo" (a real-time photograph) during the application process to reduce the chances of fraudulent submissions or proxy candidates.

Candidates can take a selfie using their mobile or laptop camera to upload their live photo. A QR code feature is also available, allowing candidates to scan the code displayed on the screen with their mobile device to upload their photo.

For the first time, candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will benefit from reservation in this examination. General category candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% (90 out of 150 marks) to qualify, while OBC, SC, ST, and EWS candidates need at least 55% (82 marks).
