UPSC Notification for CAPF Assistant Commandant Exam 2026



The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the commencement of the application process for the Central Armed Police Force (Assistant Commandant) Examination 2026. Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the UPSC's official portal at upsconline.nic.in. The deadline for submitting applications is March 19, 2026.


Eligibility Criteria


Before applying, candidates should verify their eligibility. Applicants must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university or institution. The age requirement is set between 20 and 25 years, with age relaxation available for candidates from reserved categories. The age will be determined as of August 1, 2026.

  1. Visit the official UPSC website, upsconline.nic.in.
  2. Click on "Create Account" on the homepage, fill in the necessary details, and generate a Unique Registration Number (URN).
  3. Complete the application by providing the required information.
  4. If applicable, pay the required application fee.
  5. Submit the application and print a copy for future reference.


This year, candidates must upload a live photograph during the application process. Instead of a one-time registration, a URN will be issued, which will remain valid indefinitely.


Application Fee


Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹200, which can be processed online. However, SC/ST candidates and women from all categories can apply without any fee.


Selection Procedure


The selection process involves a written examination, followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standards Test (PST) for those who qualify. Successful candidates will then undergo an interview/personality test and a medical examination. The final selection list will be published after all stages are completed.
