Overview of UP Board Exams 2026

The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has set the schedule for the High School and Intermediate examinations, which will take place from February 18 to March 12, 2026. This year, over 5.2 million students are expected to participate.

Exam Participation and Structure

A total of 5.23 million candidates are registered for the upcoming exams, comprising approximately 2.75 million high school students and 2.479 million intermediate students. The board is implementing various measures to ensure the smooth conduct of these exams.

Examination Centers and Monitoring

This year, 8,033 examination centers will be operational across the state. Each center will be equipped with CCTV surveillance to enhance security. Responsibilities have been assigned to center administrators to mitigate any potential irregularities, with local authorities also playing a crucial role.

Innovative Identity Verification

In a new initiative, the UP Board will issue identity cards featuring QR codes to room inspectors for the first time. These cards were uploaded to the board's portal on February 10, 2026, to prevent the deployment of unauthorized inspectors. A thorough verification process will be enforced during the exams.

Room Inspector Coordination

District School Inspectors (DIOS) have been tasked with collaborating with the Basic Education Officer (BSA) to ensure that sufficient room inspectors are available by February 12. The board aims to avoid any shortages at examination centers.

Medical Support During Exams

First aid facilities will be accessible for both students and staff throughout the examination period. Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) are required to finalize arrangements by February 13 to address any health issues that may arise.

Focus on Cleanliness

The Board has prioritized cleanliness around examination centers. Chief Development Officers (CDOs) are instructed to ensure a hygienic environment by February 13, with additional sanitation measures in urban areas coordinated with the Municipal Commissioner.

Sensitive Districts and Monitoring

Eighteen districts have been identified as sensitive, including Agra, Mathura, and Prayagraj, among others. Specific subjects and dates will receive heightened scrutiny, with special monitoring and administrative measures in place.

Measures Against Cheating

The Board has emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards cheating and disorderly conduct. Both police and administrative bodies will oversee examination centers, with immediate action to be taken against any detected irregularities.
