Important Update for UGC NET Aspirants

Candidates gearing up for the UGC NET exam should note that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to initiate the application process for the December 2026 exam shortly. Last year, the application window opened on October 7, suggesting that notifications and application acceptance may begin in early October this year.

Exam Schedule Confirmed

The NTA has officially released the exam dates for the UGC NET December session. As per the announced schedule, the UGC NET (December Cycle) will take place across various centers nationwide from December 14 to December 19, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the UGC NET December 2026 exam, candidates must have completed their postgraduate degree in the relevant field or be in their final year of study. Additionally, those who have completed a four-year undergraduate program are also eligible. For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) applications, candidates must be under 31 years of age, while there is no upper age limit for the NET exam.

Application Fees

The application fees for the UGC NET exam differ based on the candidate's category. General and Unreserved candidates need to pay ₹1,150, while OBC and EWS candidates are required to pay ₹600. For SC, ST, and PH candidates, the fee is ₹325. Payments can be made through debit cards, credit cards, net banking, or e-challan.

On the homepage, navigate to the 'LATEST NEWS' section and click on "Registration for UGC-NET DEC 2026 is LIVE!"

On the subsequent page, select "Register yourself for the above-mentioned examination" and complete the registration process by entering the necessary details.

After registration, candidates must fill in the remaining application form details, upload their photograph and signature, and pay the required fee. Once the form is submitted, it is advisable to print a copy for future reference.
