Details of the Recruitment Drive

SECR is seeking applications for Trade Apprentices across multiple disciplines. The trades include Fitter, Electrician, Welder, COPA (Computer Operator and Programming Assistant), Machinist, Mechanic, and Stenographer (Hindi/English). This recruitment initiative is particularly significant for young individuals looking to secure a position in the Railways without the need for an examination.

Eligibility Criteria and Age Requirements

Applicants must have completed their 10th-grade education from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. Additionally, candidates should possess an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in the relevant trade, recognized by either the NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) or the SCVT (State Council for Vocational Training).

The age requirements stipulate a minimum age of 15 years and a maximum age of 24 years, calculated as of May 5, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from reserved categories in accordance with government regulations.

Selection Process: Merit-Based

The selection process for this recruitment will not involve any written examinations or interviews. Candidates will be chosen based on a merit list, which will consider the marks obtained in both the 10th-grade examination and the ITI course. The final merit list will reflect the average percentage from these two assessments. Those selected will be invited for document verification and a medical examination.
