NTA Invites Applications for Subject Matter Experts and Translation Reviewers

NTA's Call for Experts

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the process of forming a panel of Subject Matter Experts and Translation Reviewers for various national-level examinations across the country. The agency is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified individuals, including experienced educators, professors, researchers, and specialists in relevant fields.

Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official NTA website until October 9, 2026. According to the agency, this initiative aims to enhance the quality, factual accuracy, and evaluation process of the questions posed in examinations.

Role of Subject Matter Experts

Those selected as Subject Matter Experts will contribute to the development of examination questions based on the prescribed syllabus. The questions must be designed to assess not only the candidates' theoretical knowledge but also their understanding of the subject and their ability to apply it in practical scenarios.

Additionally, these experts will be responsible for reviewing the questions to ensure there are no factual, conceptual, or subject-related errors. They must also verify that the language of the questions is clear and that the difficulty level aligns with the examination standards.

NTA has also mentioned the inclusion of Translation and Transadaptation Reviewers to prepare examination-related content in various Indian languages. These specialists will ensure that the meaning of the original question is preserved during translation into another language, while also ensuring grammatical correctness and clarity for candidates.

The agency emphasizes that even when AI-based Translation Tools are used for preparing examination content, human review remains crucial. Language experts will ensure that there are no errors in meaning, context, or technical terminology in AI-generated translations.

Who Can Apply?

Individuals with expertise in relevant subjects and sufficient academic or professional experience are eligible to apply for this panel. This includes current or retired faculty members, professors, school educators, researchers, and subject specialists.

Applicants must possess documents that certify their qualifications and expertise in the relevant subject. Additionally, experts with a strong command of Indian languages can also apply for the Translation Review panel.
