The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced important guidelines for candidates participating in the NEET UG 2026 re-exam, scheduled for June 21. This initiative aims to ensure a secure examination process through specific dress code rules and biometric verification procedures.

Exam Timing and Special Provisions

The NEET UG 2026 re-exam will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Candidates with disabilities (PwD and PwBD) who qualify for additional time will have their exams extend until 6:20 PM.

Permitted Items for Candidates

Considering the rainy season, candidates are allowed to bring a transparent water bottle into the exam venue. Furthermore, they can keep their admit card in a transparent plastic pouch for protection. The NTA encourages candidates to limit their belongings to only what is necessary for the exam.

Dress Code Regulations

Candidates are advised to wear light clothing for the re-exam. However, if they choose to wear full-sleeved or woolen garments, they should arrive early to facilitate security checks. It is recommended to wear slippers or low-heeled sandals, as those in high-heeled shoes may undergo more thorough security screenings. The NTA also allows religious attire, such as a kalva, turban, hijab, or other faith-related symbols, but candidates must arrive earlier for proper screening due to potential delays.

Prohibited Items at the Exam Center

Candidates are strictly forbidden from bringing any electronic devices into the exam center. This includes mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and earphones. Additionally, large belts, heavy jewelry, and metallic accessories are not allowed.

Biometric Verification Process

All candidates must undergo biometric verification before entering the exam center, which may involve fingerprint or facial recognition. If technical difficulties arise that prevent biometric verification, candidates will still be allowed to take the exam after completing a declaration form at the center. The NTA assures that this process will not inconvenience candidates and can be completed either before or after the exam.
