The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced the postponement of the State Services Main Examination 2026, which was originally set to commence on October 3, 2026. Additionally, the Maharashtra Civil Engineering Main Examination 2026 and the Maharashtra Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Main Examination 2026 have also been deferred. The new dates for these examinations will be communicated at a later time.

Reasons Behind the Postponement

This decision was made in response to ongoing protests from candidates, parents, and student organizations. Allegations of irregularities in MPSC examinations, particularly concerning the leak of the Drug Inspector exam question paper, have fueled these protests. In August, the MPSC had to cancel the recruitment process due to an investigation into this paper leak.
