IIT Delhi Director Position Open for Applications

Director Vacancy at IIT Delhi: The prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is currently accepting applications for the role of Director. This announcement has been made by the Department of Higher Education, part of the Union Ministry of Education. Interested candidates must submit their applications by October 31.

The selection process will be conducted by a 'Search-cum-Selection Committee', which will recommend candidates for appointment, subject to approval from the relevant authority. The committee will evaluate both applications and notable nominations received.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify, applicants should possess a PhD and have achieved a first-class or equivalent in their previous degree. While candidates with an engineering background will be prioritized, those with qualifications in science, mathematics, or management may also be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Applicants must demonstrate an exemplary academic record, with a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience as a professor at a recognized engineering or technology institution or university. Additionally, candidates should have experience supervising PhD students and at least five years in an administrative role.

As for age requirements, candidates should be below 60 years old by the application deadline.

Compensation and Duration:

The role offers a fixed monthly salary of ₹2.25 lakh, along with applicable allowances. The term of appointment is five years or until the individual reaches the age of 70, whichever comes first.

Application Requirements:

Candidates must submit a comprehensive résumé detailing their teaching, research, industry-academia collaborations, and administrative experience. Additionally, a two-page justification of their suitability for the position and a two-page vision statement for IIT Delhi are required. Contact information for at least two distinguished individuals familiar with the candidate's professional background must also be included.

Those currently employed in government sectors, autonomous bodies, or public sector enterprises must apply through the appropriate channels.
