NEET-UG 2026 Re-Examination: Following the controversy surrounding the NEET paper leak, the Indian government is taking significant precautions for the upcoming NEET re-examination. The authorities have decided to enhance the security and monitoring measures to prevent any form of malpractice or irregularities this time.

Recently, a high-level meeting was convened at the residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi. The discussions focused on the stringent security arrangements for the NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21, which is expected to see participation from approximately 23 lakh students.

Direct Oversight from the PMO

According to government sources, officials from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) will closely monitor the entire examination process. This includes overseeing the preparation of the question paper, its printing, secure transportation, and distribution to examination centers. This vigilance will continue until the last student receives their question paper.

The crucial meeting lasted about 40 minutes and included several high-ranking ministers and officials. Key attendees were Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh, and senior PMO officials.

PM Modi's Involvement

Sources indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personally monitoring every update related to this examination. He is being continuously informed about the preparations and stringent security measures in place. The previous NEET examination was canceled due to widespread uproar and reports of paper leaks, raising serious concerns about the integrity of this major medical entrance exam among students, parents, and political parties.

Amidst this significant pressure, the government's focus is now on preventing any lapses in security. Officials are rigorously reviewing the protection and transportation of confidential documents. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is actively assessing the preparations, and various government agencies are collaborating to strengthen security.
