This decision comes just four days prior to the scheduled interviews, leaving candidates uncertain about the next steps. The recruitment initiative aims to fill 265 positions across 20 different departments within the Chhattisgarh government. New dates for the document verification and interviews will be communicated in due course.

In an official statement, the Commission indicated that the revised dates for the document verification and interviews, which were initially set from September 20 to October 1, will be posted on its official website. Candidates are encouraged to frequently check the Commission's website for updates. The examination took place in various districts of Chhattisgarh on February 22, 2026.

Context of the Decision

This postponement follows calls from the opposition to delay the interviews until all candidate concerns are addressed. There have been ongoing demands for greater transparency in the selection process. Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has emphasized these requests, which include the following:

Public disclosure of candidates' answer sheets prior to the interviews.

Provision of answer sheet copies at no cost to unsuccessful candidates.

Establishment of clear guidelines for evaluators of the answer sheets; release of model answers for the Mains exam; and re-evaluation of answer sheets.

Strict adherence to the 1:3 ratio (three candidates per position) for interview invitations.

The Congress party has raised significant concerns regarding the evaluation process and the number of candidates shortlisted for interviews in this recruitment drive. Currently, the recruitment process is on hold, leaving selected candidates anxious about the situation.
