CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam 2026: Registration and Important Details
Overview of the CBSE Compartment Exam Process
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially started the registration process for the Class 12 compartment exam for 2026. Schools have been instructed to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for students eligible to take the exam.
Registration Timeline and Requirements
Schools are required to register eligible students through the 'Pariksha Sangam' portal from June 30 to July 8. It is crucial for schools to ensure that all students in the compartment category are included in the LOC, as those not listed will be barred from taking the exam.
Instructions for Schools
CBSE has mandated that schools log in to the 'Pariksha Sangam' portal using their affiliation credentials to submit the LOC. It is essential that all students categorized as 'compartment' are listed, even if the school has difficulty contacting them. Missing names will result in the student being unable to take the exam later.
Guidance for Compartment Students
Students who were regular candidates in the 2026 Class 12 board exams and are now in the compartment category should reach out to their respective schools. The schools will facilitate their registration for the compartment exam. It is advisable for students to act promptly and not wait until the deadline.
Eligibility Criteria for the Compartment Exam
Eligible students include those who were placed in the compartment category during the 2026 board exams and are taking their first compartment exam. This also includes students who passed the main examination but wish to improve their scores, as well as those who took the Class 12 exam for the first time in 2025 and are applying as private candidates for their final opportunity.
Compartment Exam Schedule
The Class 12 compartment examination is scheduled for July 28, 2026. This date has been revised from the original July 15 date. The release date for admit cards is yet to be announced, and schools are advised to contact the regional office immediately if any discrepancies are found in the admit cards.
Compartment Exam Fees
The application fee for the compartment exam must be paid online. Payment options include credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI. The fee structure is as follows: ₹320 per subject for schools in India, ₹1,100 per subject for schools in Nepal, and ₹2,200 per subject for schools outside India.
