The West Bengal government has revealed an extensive recruitment initiative, aiming to fill 100,000 positions, which includes a substantial number of roles for teachers and police officers. During the Assembly session, Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta announced the recruitment of one lakh individuals. Out of these, 70,000 positions are earmarked for educators and law enforcement, with 50,000 roles for teachers and 20,000 for police personnel, while the remaining vacancies will be distributed across various sectors.
Women’s Representation in Government Jobs

The new budget aims to enhance women's representation in government jobs, with a commitment to reserve 33% of positions for female candidates. This initiative will also lead to the establishment of women's help desks in every police station throughout the state.
