The administration of Dr. APG Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has announced that there are currently 1,622 vacant B.Tech seats across various government colleges and affiliated institutions participating in UPTAC counseling. These seats will be filled during the sixth round of counseling.
Details on Vacant Seats
Despite the completion of five rounds of counseling, many B.Tech seats remain unfilled. The total number of vacant seats is 1,622, distributed among 1,935 government colleges and 14 state universities linked to AKTU. Specific vacancies include 18 seats at Acharya Narendra Dev University in Ayodhya, 160 at Avadh University, and 99 at Lucknow University. Overall, around 70,000 seats are unoccupied in Uttar Pradesh's government and private colleges.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
Candidates who have taken the JEE Main 2025 or CUET UG, as well as those who have not participated in either exam, are eligible to apply for this round of AKTU counseling.
Important Dates for Counseling
Choice filling for the sixth round of counseling is open until August 31. The seat allotment process will take place on September 2, 2025. Candidates who have already received seat allotments and have not withdrawn are ineligible to participate in this round.
Registration Fee and Refund Policy
To take part in this counseling round, a registration fee of ₹20,000 is required. Registration will remain open until August 28. If a candidate does not secure a seat in either round, the ₹20,000 fee will be refunded. Additionally, information regarding seat vacancies for Special Round 2 will be available on September 2.
