Uttarakhand Offers Free Training for Aspiring Agniveers

The Uttarakhand government has initiated a free pre-recruitment training program for youth aiming to become Agniveers in the Army. This initiative, directed by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, aims to prepare candidates across all 13 districts of the state. Eligible participants must be residents or students in Uttarakhand, with specific academic criteria to meet. The program not only supports military aspirations but also promises job reservations in government roles for Agniveers post-service. This move is a recognition of the state's military legacy and aims to empower its youth.
 

Free Pre-Recruitment Training Initiative


Uttarakhand: The state government of Uttarakhand has announced a new initiative to offer complimentary pre-recruitment training for youth aspiring to join the Army as Agniveers. This program has been established under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, with the Sports and Youth Welfare Department creating a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to facilitate the training.


This training will be accessible across all 13 districts within the state. The Chief Minister has emphasized the importance of preparing the youth for Agniveer recruitment, ensuring they have the chance to serve in the Army.


Eligibility for the Training Program
To qualify for this free training, candidates must either be residents of Uttarakhand or currently enrolled in an educational institution within the state.


Criteria for Participation
Applicants must have completed their high school education with a minimum of 45% overall marks.


Additionally, candidates are required to achieve at least 33% in each subject.


The minimum age to participate in the training is set at 16 years.


Chief Minister Dhami highlighted that this initiative is a tribute to Uttarakhand's rich military heritage, aiming to empower the youth to serve in the military through the Agniveer scheme. Furthermore, he announced that Agniveers will receive job reservations in government positions upon completion of their service.
