A significant announcement has been made for youth in Uttarakhand aspiring for careers in the medical field. The Uttarakhand Medical Services Selection Board (UKMSSB) is now accepting applications to fill 196 Nursing Officer vacancies. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply online. The successful applicants will be appointed within the Department of Health and Family Welfare. The application window is currently open, and candidates should ensure they submit their applications before the deadline.


Key Dates for Application Submission

As per the recruitment notification from UKMSSB, the online application process started on June 12, 2026. Candidates can submit their applications and fees until 5:00 PM on July 2, 2026. If there are any mistakes in the application, a correction period will be available from July 4 to July 7, 2026.


Distribution of Posts for Male and Female Candidates

This recruitment drive will fill a total of 196 positions, with 157 allocated for female Nursing Officers and 39 for male Nursing Officers. Within the female category, 126 posts are reserved for diploma holders, while 31 are for degree holders. For male candidates, 31 posts are designated for diploma holders and 8 for degree holders.


Eligibility Criteria and Age Requirements

Candidates must hold a GNM, B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. Additionally, they must have permanent registration with the Uttarakhand Nurses and Midwives Council. The age limit for applicants is set between 21 and 42 years, calculated as of July 1, 2025.


Selection Process and Salary Structure

The selection will be based on a written examination consisting of objective-type questions worth 200 marks, lasting three hours. This will be followed by document verification and a medical examination. Successful candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400, classified under Pay Matrix Level-7.


Application Fees

Candidates from the General and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹300. For SC, ST, EWS, and PwD candidates from Uttarakhand, the fee is set at ₹150. Interested individuals can apply online through the official website of the board.
