Exciting Developments in Higher Education Recruitment
Young job seekers in Uttar Pradesh's higher education sector have reason to celebrate as the recruitment process for numerous vacant Assistant Professor positions is gaining traction. The Directorate of Higher Education has initiated the collection of vacancy details from various colleges, which are being uploaded to the selection commission's portal. The recruitment scope has broadened significantly, with the number of available positions exceeding initial estimates. Concurrently, efforts are being made to appoint principals and establish new teaching roles in 'Chief Minister Model Composite Schools'.
Recruitment for More Than 1,600 Assistant Professor Positions
Currently, over 1,600 Assistant Professor vacancies have been identified across around 330 non-government aided colleges in the state. This figure has increased from the previously reported 1,150 due to additional vacancy details submitted by college administrations. The Directorate of Higher Education is in the process of verifying these positions and will soon send the finalized list to the selection commission.
Final Data Submission to the Selection Commission
Officials have stated that the data regarding vacant positions is being cross-checked with the ongoing recruitment advertisement process. The complete information is expected to be sent to the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission shortly, facilitating the recruitment process. An advertisement for 1,017 Assistant Professor positions was previously released in 2022.
Potential Increase in Principal Vacancies
There is also a growing possibility of recruitment for vacant principal positions in aided colleges. A requisition for 111 principal posts has already been submitted to the selection commission. As more vacancy information is awaited from various institutions, the final count may increase.
Establishment of New Teaching Positions in Model Composite Schools
The state government is transforming 'Chief Minister Model Composite Schools' into modern educational hubs. These institutions will provide education from pre-nursery to Class 12, with plans to appoint two teachers for each section. A total of 150 such schools will be established, equipped with modern facilities like smart classrooms, digital libraries, computer labs, and AI and robotics labs. English-medium instruction will be a significant aspect of these schools.
