UP Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026
Exciting news has emerged for aspiring educators aiming to secure positions as professors in government-aided colleges throughout Uttar Pradesh. The Higher Education Department has commenced the recruitment process to fill a significant number of vacant Assistant Professor roles in non-government aided institutions across the state.
Recruitment Likely for More Than 1,600 Positions
Initially, the recruitment was projected to cover around 1,150 positions. However, as more colleges reported additional vacancies, the total has now exceeded 1,600. These vacancies are currently undergoing final verification before being submitted to the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, with the recruitment process expected to conclude shortly.
Ongoing Data Collection from Colleges
The Directorate of Higher Education has mandated colleges to submit precise information regarding their vacant positions. Following strict guidelines from the department, numerous institutions have reported new vacancies. Officials anticipate that the final count may rise further, as some colleges have yet to submit their reports.
Possibility of Principal Recruitment
The recruitment scope also includes Principal positions in aided colleges. Reports indicate that details for 111 vacant Principal roles have already been forwarded to the Selection Commission. Verification reports from several colleges are still pending, which may lead to an increase in the number of available vacancies.
Creation of New Posts in 'Chief Minister Model Composite Schools'
To enhance the modern education framework, the state government is launching 'Chief Minister Model Composite Schools' that will provide education from pre-nursery to Class 12. Preparations are in progress to establish new teaching positions for these schools, with the government seeking reports from officials on the required number of teachers to ensure effective operations.
Modern Amenities in New Schools
A total of 150 'Chief Minister Model Composite Schools' are set to be established statewide, with construction already underway for most of them. These schools will offer instruction in English and accommodate around 1,500 students each.
They will be equipped with modern facilities, including smart classrooms, digital libraries, computer labs, AI and robotics labs, language labs, and skill development centers. The government aims to provide students in government schools with high-quality, technology-driven education comparable to that of private institutions.
Boosting Employment Opportunities for Youth
The recruitment of assistant professors, principals, and teachers for the new model schools is expected to generate numerous employment opportunities for educated youth in the state. Once the recruitment process is finalized, the existing teacher shortages in both higher education and school sectors can be significantly alleviated.
