Uttar Pradesh to Launch Major Teacher Recruitment for Over 23,000 Vacancies
Upcoming Teacher Recruitment Drive in Uttar Pradesh
A significant recruitment initiative is set to take place for teaching positions in aided secondary schools throughout Uttar Pradesh. There are numerous openings for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), Headmasters, and Principals that remain unfilled across the state. The Directorate of Education has gathered data regarding these vacancies and is preparing to present it to the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission. The completion of this recruitment process is anticipated to address the long-standing vacancies in schools, thereby enhancing the quality of education.
Recruitment Plans for More Than 23,000 Positions
The recruitment will focus on filling over 23,000 roles for TGTs, PGTs, Headmasters, and Principals across 4,512 aided secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh. The Education Department had requested information on expected vacancies by March 31, 2026, with directives issued by July 29. All districts, with the exception of Ghazipur, have submitted their data. Currently, a survey has been completed in 71 districts, revealing 22,201 vacant positions. The total number of vacancies is projected to surpass 23,000 once data from the remaining districts is incorporated.
The Directorate of Education has announced that comprehensive details regarding all vacant positions will be made available on the Selection Commission's portal once finalized. Dr. Brajesh Mishra, Deputy Director of Education (Secondary-3), emphasized that the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) has been instructed to ensure that only genuine vacancies are included in the requisition.
Additionally, the government has mandated the immediate revocation of affiliation orders issued without authorization and the reinstatement of affected employees to their original roles. Following the recruitment process, the shortage of teachers in schools is expected to be significantly reduced.
