Important Announcement for Candidates



The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially revealed the schedule for the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Main Exam 2023. This announcement brings excitement to numerous candidates across Uttar Pradesh.


As per the notification from Virendra Mani Tripathi, the Deputy Secretary of the Commission, the exams are set to take place on January 31 and February 1, 2026.


Significance of the Exam

This examination holds significant importance for those aspiring to secure government positions. Each year, thousands of students compete in the RO-ARO exam organized by UPPSC. In the current cycle, 7,509 candidates successfully passed the preliminary exam and are now gearing up for the main examination.


The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 419 positions, which include 338 Review Officer roles, 79 Assistant Review Officer roles, and 2 ARO (Accounting) positions. The results of the preliminary exam were announced on September 16, 2025, with 6,093 candidates qualifying for the Review Officer role, 1,386 for the Assistant Review Officer role, and 30 for the ARO (Accounting) position.


Exam Schedule Overview

Exam Duration


The RO-ARO main exam will span two days. On January 31, 2026, candidates will take the General Studies and General Hindi/Drafting papers, while February 1, 2026, will be dedicated to the Hindi Essay exam.


Detailed Exam Timings

Day 1: January 31, 2026


The first shift will occur from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, featuring an objective General Studies paper, mirroring the preliminary exam format. The second shift, scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, will include General Hindi and Drafting papers, divided into two segments: subjective questions from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and objective questions on vocabulary and grammar from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM.


Day 2: February 1, 2026


On this day, only the Hindi Essay paper will be conducted, running from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, allowing candidates a total of three hours to complete it.
