Uttar Pradesh Disburses Over ₹148 Crore in Scholarships to Students

The Uttar Pradesh government has successfully disbursed over ₹148 crore in scholarships and fee reimbursements to more than 460,000 students. Significant Scholarship Distribution in Uttar Pradesh



In a major initiative, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred more than ₹148 crore in scholarship and fee reimbursement funds to over 460,000 students. This financial aid was distributed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.


The Chief Minister launched the first phase of this distribution at an event held at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow, targeting students from various backgrounds, including General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Minority categories.


Among the beneficiaries, OBC students received the largest share, with ₹60.1 crore allocated to 223,615 students. Additionally, ₹64.54 crore was given to 159,959 SC students, ₹11.43 crore to 38,084 General category students, and ₹12.6 crore to 38,901 students from minority communities. Overall, the total number of beneficiaries surpassed 460,000, with the total funds disbursed exceeding ₹148 crore.


Scholarship Amounts Vary by Category


The scholarship amounts vary based on the students' categories and eligibility, ranging from ₹2,250 to ₹14,000. Furthermore, the fee reimbursement scheme allows eligible students to receive refunds for the fees they have paid. Both the scholarship and reimbursement funds have been directly credited to the students' bank accounts. Looking ahead, over 6.59 million students are expected to benefit in the 2025-26 financial year.


For the upcoming financial year, the government plans to distribute more than ₹4,793 crore in scholarships and fee reimbursements to 6.59 million students. The integration of automation into the system has streamlined the application and payment processes, ensuring timely fund transfers and enhancing transparency.


Steps to Verify Scholarship Credit


To check if your scholarship has been credited, follow these steps:


1. Visit the UP Scholarship portal.


2. Click on the 'Status-Student' option on the homepage.


3. Select the '2025-26 Session Application Status' link.


4. Enter your registration number and date of birth.


5. Complete the captcha code and click 'Search'.


6. Your scholarship status will be displayed on the screen.
