Responsibilities of Agriculture Technical Assistants

Officials from the Agriculture Department have outlined the roles of the newly appointed Technical Assistants. These individuals will operate directly in rural communities, engaging with farmers to promote awareness of modern agricultural practices. Their responsibilities include ensuring that welfare schemes from both the central and state governments—such as the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Soil Health Card, and Crop Insurance Scheme—are effectively communicated to farmers, regardless of their land size. Furthermore, they will provide guidance on the optimal use of improved seeds, organic fertilizers, and pesticides, aimed at enhancing crop yields and minimizing farming expenses.
