UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 Notification Released



The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the notification for the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination for the year 2027. Interested candidates can submit their applications by visiting the official UPSC website. The deadline for application submissions is September 22, 2026, with a total of 127 positions available for recruitment through this examination.


Selection Process Overview

The selection of candidates will involve a three-stage process: a Preliminary Examination, a Main Examination, and an interview. The Preliminary Examination will consist of two papers: Paper-1, which will cover General Studies and be worth 100 marks, and Paper-2, which will focus on the relevant subject for the post and carry 300 marks. This examination is set to take place on January 10, 2027. Successful candidates from this stage will proceed to the Main Examination scheduled for June 19 and 20, 2027.


Age Requirements

Candidates wishing to apply for the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination must be aged between 21 and 32 years as of January 1, 2027. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates from reserved categories.


Educational Qualifications

To be eligible for the Geo-Scientist positions, applicants must possess a Master's degree from a recognized institution in India.


Application Fee Details

Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, along with female applicants, are exempt from the application fee. However, those from the unreserved category must pay an online fee of ₹200 when completing their application.
