The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) Assistant Commandant Examination for 2026. This examination will facilitate direct recruitment into esteemed forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).


Key Dates and Application Fees

Eligible candidates can apply online through the UPSC's official website. The application process is currently open and will close on March 12, 2026. The application fee is set at ₹200 for male candidates from General and OBC categories, while female candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and all other categories can apply free of charge.


Vacancies and Eligibility Criteria

The recruitment drive has a total of 108 vacancies for BSF, 106 for CRPF, 70 for CISF, 53 for SSB, and 12 for ITBP. Candidates must be aged between 20 and 25 years and hold a graduation degree from a recognized university. The selection process consists of two stages: a written examination followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET).


Physical Standards and Preparation

Candidates should focus on their physical fitness, as the PET includes an 800-meter race to be completed in 3 minutes and 45 seconds, and a 100-meter sprint in 16 seconds. Additionally, events like long jump and shot put will be conducted. Experts recommend that candidates begin their physical training alongside their written exam preparation.

3. Log in and fill in your personal details, including names, gender, and date of birth.


4. Provide your matriculation and graduation roll numbers, along with board and certificate details.


5. Upload a live photo (20-200 KB) and signature, along with any applicable category certificates and educational documents.


Final Steps in the Application

Next, you will need to disclose your family's annual income, source of income, and personal interests. Choose an examination center that suits you, such as Patna or another city. After verifying all details, pay the application fee and submit your form. Ensure that the file names of your photos and documents are in English to prevent any technical issues during the upload process. Incorrect applications may be rejected, so double-check every entry before submission.
