UPPSC RO ARO Mains Exam Dates Announced for 2026

UPPSC RO ARO Mains Exam Schedule


Announcement of Exam Dates: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially revealed the dates for the Mains Examination for Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) 2023. This announcement was made by the Commission's Deputy Secretary, Virendra Mani Tripathi. The exams are scheduled to take place on January 31 and February 1, 2026. A total of 7,509 candidates successfully passed the UPPSC RO ARO Preliminary Examination.


For the latest updates regarding the UPPSC RO ARO Mains Examination, candidates can visit uppsc.up.nic.in. This examination aims to fill 419 positions, which include 338 for Review Officers and 79 for Assistant Review Officers. The results of the preliminary examination were announced on September 16, 2025, with 6,093 candidates qualifying for the Review Officer role, 1,386 for the Assistant Review Officer role, and 30 for the two ARO Accounts positions.


Exam Schedule Details:
The UPPSC has provided a comprehensive schedule for the RO and ARO Mains Exam 2023, which will be conducted over two days.


January 31, 2026: General Studies and General Hindi/Drafting
On the first day, two question papers will be administered in two shifts:


First Shift (General Studies)
Time: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Format: This will be an objective-type question paper, similar to the General Studies paper from the Preliminary Examination.


Second Shift (General Hindi and Drafting)
Time: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Structure: This paper will consist of two sections, with a total duration of 3 hours.
Section One (Subjective): From 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, subjective papers on General Hindi and Drafting will be conducted.
Section Two (General Vocabulary and Grammar): From 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, an objective test on General Vocabulary and Grammar will take place.


February 1, 2026: Hindi Essay
The final paper will occur on February 1, 2026:
Time: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Format: This will be the Hindi Essay paper, with a time limit of 3 hours.
