The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has announced the final answer key and results for the Sub-Inspector recruitment exam. Candidates can check their results and the answer key on the official website until May 14. The final answer key revealed discrepancies in 8 questions, where multiple correct options were identified for 8 questions, and adjustments were made to the answer choices for 4 questions. The board has also detailed the marking scheme for these specific questions.


Valid Objections Raised Against 20 Questions

Candidates can access the answer key for the exam conducted on March 14 and 15, 2026, by visiting the official website, uppbpb.gov.in. A window for submitting objections against the provisional answer key was open from March 23 to March 26, 2026.

After reviewing the objections submitted by candidates, the board found 20 questions to have valid claims. This includes errors in the answer options for 8 questions, instances of multiple correct answers for 8 questions, and modifications to the answer options for 4 questions.


Decisions on the 20 Questions

The Recruitment Board has made the following decisions regarding the distribution of marks for the questions with valid objections:

  1. Eight questions have been cancelled due to identified errors, and the marks for these questions will be redistributed among candidates as per the ruling of the Hon'ble High Court of Allahabad in Writ Petition No. 2669 (MB)/2009, *Pawan Kumar Agrahari vs. U.P. Public Service Commission*.
  2. For the 8 questions with multiple correct options, candidates who selected any of the correct answers will receive the marks allocated for a correct response.


Candidates Advancing to the Next Stage

12,333 candidates have qualified for the next phase of the recruitment process, which includes Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST). This number represents approximately 2.7 times the total vacancies advertised, encompassing all candidates who achieved the cutoff score.
