Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) has unveiled a recruitment drive for engineering diploma holders. The announcement includes 16 trainee positions available in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. Interested candidates from Karnataka can submit their applications online from November 19, 2025, to December 18, 2025, through the official UCSL or Cochin Shipyard Limited website.


As per the UCSL vacancy details, the Mechanical trade offers 12 positions, distributed as follows: 6 for General, 3 for OBC, 1 for SC, 1 for ST, and 1 for EWS. The Electrical trade has 4 positions available, with 2 for General, 1 for OBC, and 1 for SC, totaling 16 positions across both trades.


Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the UCSL Diploma Engineering Trainee Recruitment 2025, applicants must possess a 3-year diploma in the relevant engineering field with at least 60% marks. Mechanical positions require a diploma in Mechanical Engineering, while Electrical positions necessitate a diploma in Electrical Engineering.


Age Requirements
The upper age limit for applicants is set at 25 years as of the application deadline of December 18, 2025, meaning candidates must be born on or after December 19, 2000. Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories in accordance with government policies: OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates can avail a 3-year age extension, while SC and ST candidates can benefit from a 5-year extension.


Stipend Details
Selected diploma engineering trainees at UCSL will undergo a two-year training program, earning a stipend of ₹20,000 per month during the first year and ₹23,000 per month in the second year.


Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be eligible for a supervisory role in the TS-1 grade, starting with a basic salary of ₹28,000. The total initial salary can reach around ₹55,104 per month, with an annual CTC estimated at approximately ₹8 lakh.
