Innovative Digital Governance Initiative

In a significant move towards enhancing digital governance, the Telangana government has rolled out school education services via WhatsApp, aimed at benefiting students and parents statewide. This initiative was officially launched during a grand ceremony at the historic LB Stadium in Hyderabad, with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurating the program. The government anticipates that this innovative technology will directly assist over 1.8 million school students across the state.

User-Friendly Platform Development

The platform has been crafted by the Electronic Service Delivery (ESD) division, also known as 'Meeseva', under the Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications (ITE&C) Department. Its main goal is to alleviate the burden on students and parents from frequent visits to government offices and the associated paperwork. To enhance user engagement, the state bird, 'Palapitta', has been introduced as a mascot, delivering vital information through short video messages.

Integration of Key Services

Following a successful one-year pilot, numerous students have utilized this platform to conveniently download essential documents, including progress reports, exam results, hall tickets, mark sheets, old SSC memos, and transfer certificates. In the upcoming phase, additional vital services will be integrated. Parents will receive real-time updates on WhatsApp regarding their children's daily attendance, as well as information on the distribution of school uniforms, textbooks, and notebooks. Furthermore, the platform will offer details on pre-matric scholarship applications, mid-day meal quality, health and wellness programs, and welfare schemes for residential schools. Parents will also have the opportunity to provide feedback or raise grievances.

Accessing the Service

To utilize these services from home, students and parents can easily reach out to Meeseva’s official WhatsApp number, +91 80969 58096, using their mobile devices. By sending a simple message to this number, they can quickly access a variety of school-related information.
