Announcement for Junior Court Assistants: The Supreme Court has released a notification for the recruitment of Junior Court Assistants (JCA). Eligible Indian citizens are invited to submit online applications under Advertisement No. F.6/2026-SC (RC). This recruitment aims to fill approximately 250 positions classified as Group-B, non-gazetted.


The advertisement was published on September 30, 2026, with the online application process starting on October 7, 2026. Candidates can submit their applications until 11:55 PM on October 28, 2026.


Eligibility Criteria for Junior Court Assistant:
Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in India. Additionally, candidates should have computer operation skills and a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute in English. The cutoff date for determining educational qualifications and other eligibility requirements is September 1, 2026. Candidates must be aged between 18 and 30 years as of this date.


Selection Process Overview:


The selection for the Junior Court Assistant role will involve four stages, with candidates required to meet the qualifying criteria at each level.

Advancement to Subsequent Stages:
Candidates who achieve a minimum of 50 marks in the objective test will be eligible for the next stage. The typing test will be conducted for candidates in a ratio of approximately 1:10 relative to the 250 available positions. Evaluation of the descriptive test answer sheets will only occur for those who pass the typing test. Candidates who qualify in the objective, typing, and descriptive tests will be invited for an interview in a ratio of about 1:3. The final merit list will be compiled based on performance and applicable reservation rules.


Examination Locations:
The objective test will take place in 131 cities nationwide. The typing and descriptive tests will be conducted in Delhi/National Capital Region (NCR), while interviews may be held online or in person in Delhi. Admit cards will be available for download online only; no physical copies will be mailed. Candidates will not receive travel or daily allowances for attending the examination or interview.


Application Fee Structure:
The application fee is categorized as follows:


General, Unreserved, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS): ₹1,500
SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Ex-Servicemen, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹750


Bank charges will also apply. Payments can only be made online through the UCO Bank payment gateway on the Supreme Court's website. The application fee is non-refundable once paid.
