The Court Master plays a crucial role within the Supreme Court, primarily responsible for documenting court proceedings. This includes taking rapid shorthand notes and later transcribing them. As a Group-A position, it demands considerable experience, making it a competitive opportunity.

Court Masters are proficient in shorthand and collaborate closely with judges. They are the go-to individuals for any documentation needs during court sessions, effectively managing courtroom operations.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Not everyone can apply for the Court Master roles at the Supreme Court. Candidates must meet specific educational and professional requirements. A bachelor's degree is mandatory, along with a shorthand speed of 120 words per minute in English and a typing speed of 40 words per minute on a computer.

Additionally, applicants should have a minimum of five years of experience as a stenographer in a government setting or as a private secretary in a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). The age limit for candidates is set between 30 and 45 years. The salary for a Court Master falls under Pay Matrix Level-11, ranging from ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700, along with various allowances.
