SSC Introduces Sliding Mechanism to Fill Vacant Positions in Recruitment

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has introduced a new Sliding Mechanism to address the issue of vacant positions in government job recruitment. This initiative aims to ensure that eligible candidates do not miss out on opportunities due to unfilled seats. The process includes a first round of results, Aadhaar verification, and options for candidates to either fix their assigned position or float for higher preferences. This change is expected to enhance the recruitment process and benefit many aspiring candidates. Read on to learn more about how this mechanism works and its implications for future SSC recruitments.

Significant Changes in SSC Recruitment Process

Transforming SSC Recruitment: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced an exciting update for youth aspiring for government positions. Historically, many candidates have missed out on opportunities due to unfilled vacancies, even after diligent preparation. However, this issue is set to change with the introduction of the "Sliding Mechanism," which functions similarly to a waiting list. Let's explore the details of this new SSC initiative.

Reason for the Change:
The SSC has observed that numerous job openings go unfilled each year. This situation arises when selected candidates either fail to show up for document verification or opt for other job offers. Previously, without a waiting list, these unoccupied positions were rolled over to the next recruitment cycle, disadvantaging eligible candidates from the current year. To tackle this issue, a new rule has been implemented.

Understanding the 'Sliding Mechanism':
First Round (FRTA)

The initial results will be published using the traditional method, and candidates will be allocated positions based on their preferences.

Aadhaar Verification (IV)

Candidates whose names are listed in the first round must visit the SSC regional office to complete their Aadhaar verification. They will have around 10 days to finalize this process.

Options: FIX and FLOAT
During the verification stage, candidates will be presented with two choices:

FIX
If you are satisfied with your assigned position, select this option. Your placement will remain unchanged thereafter.

FLOAT

If you prefer to be considered for a higher preference position should any vacancies arise, choose this option.
