SSC CGL Tier-2 Exam Dates Announced for 2025

The Staff Selection Commission has announced the dates for the SSC CGL Tier-2 examination, scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2025. Candidates who passed the Tier-1 exam can now prepare for the upcoming tests. A total of 14,582 vacancies are available across various categories, with significant participation in the previous Tier-1 exam. Announcement of Exam Dates



The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revealed the schedule for the Tier-2 examination for candidates who successfully passed the SSC CGL Tier-I exam. Those who qualified in the CGL Tier-1 will now have the opportunity to take the Tier-2 exam, which is set to take place in January.


Key Dates for the Main Exam

The SSC has confirmed that the CGL Tier-2 examination will occur on January 18 and 19, 2025. On January 18, candidates will face questions covering Mathematics, Reasoning, General Ability, English, General Awareness, and Statistics. Furthermore, a skill test is scheduled for December 19.


Vacancy Details

A total of 14,582 positions will be filled through the SSC CGL examination. This includes 6,183 vacancies for the general category, 3,721 for OBC, 1,423 for EWS, 2,167 for SC, and 1,088 for ST candidates. Additionally, 139,395 candidates have been shortlisted for the Tier-2 examination.


Previous Tier-1 Exam Dates

The Tier-1 examination was conducted by the SSC from September 12 to 26, 2025. Approximately 2.8 million candidates registered for the CGL Tier-1 exam, with 1.35 million actually participating. The provisional answer key for this exam was released on October 16, 2025. The Tier-1 exam featured 100 multiple-choice questions, totaling 200 marks, and was held over one hour, incorporating negative marking of one-fourth of a mark for each incorrect response.
