SBC Group C Recruitment 2026: The Shipbuilding Centre (SBC) located in Visakhapatnam, under the Department of Defence Research and Development (Ministry of Defence), has announced a recruitment notification for 10 Group 'C' positions. This initiative aims to fill roles such as Construction Assistant 'A' (CA 'A'), Construction Handler (CH), Fire Engine Driver (FED), and Civilian Motor Transport Driver (CMTD). Who can apply?

• CA 'A' (Fitter): Candidates must have completed Class 10 and possess an ITI/NAC or equivalent qualification in the relevant trade, along with 2 years of experience.


• CH (Electrician): Candidates should have passed Class 10 and hold a certificate in the relevant trade from a recognized ITI.


• FED (OG): Candidates must have completed Class 10 and possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license, with knowledge of motor mechanisms and at least 3 years of experience driving heavy vehicles. Physical fitness for strenuous tasks is required.


• CMTD (OG): Candidates should have passed Class 10 and hold a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license, with knowledge of motor mechanisms and at least 3 years of experience driving motor cars. A Heavy Vehicle driving license is desirable.

What is the application fee?

Candidates from General and other categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹350, excluding taxes and additional charges. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), Ex-servicemen, and female candidates are exempt from this fee.
