The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), operating under the Ministry of Railways in India, has unveiled job openings for nine distinct roles in the paramedical sector. The available positions include Nursing Superintendent, Pharmacist, Radiographer, X-ray Technician, ECG Technician, Optometrist, and Lab Assistant Grade II. The online application process will start on September 15, 2026, and will close at 11:59 PM on October 14, 2026.

Application Criteria

Nursing Superintendent: Candidates should possess a B.Sc. in Nursing or a three-year General Nursing and Midwifery course from an accredited institution, along with a Registered Nurse and Midwife certificate.

Dialysis Technician: A B.Sc. in Hemodialysis with a diploma or two years of relevant training/experience is required. A B.Sc. in Dialysis Technology is also acceptable.

Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II: Applicants must have a B.Sc. in Chemistry and a one-year diploma in Health/Sanitary Inspection or an NTC in the relevant field from NCVT.

Audiologist and Speech Therapist: A Bachelor's degree (BASLP) in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology and registration with the RCI is necessary.

Pharmacist: A degree or doctorate in Pharmacy and registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, is mandatory.

Radiographer/X-ray Technician: Candidates must have completed Class 12 with Physics and Chemistry and hold a two-year diploma in Radiography/X-ray Technician/Radiodiagnosis.

ECG Technician: A Class 12 pass (Science stream) or a Bachelor's degree, along with at least a one-year certificate, diploma, or degree in ECG/Cardiology technology, is required.

Optometrist: Candidates should have a B.Sc. in Optometry or a three-to-four-year diploma in Ophthalmic Technician, along with registration with the relevant council.

Lab Assistant Grade II: A Class 12 pass with Science subjects and at least a one-year diploma or equivalent certificate in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) is required. A B.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology is also acceptable.

Age Criteria

The age of candidates will be calculated as of January 1, 2027. The age limit varies by position, ranging from 18 to 33 years or 20 to 40 years. The date of birth must match the records in the Matriculation or SSLC certificate, with no changes allowed.

Application Fee

For RRB CEN 05/2026, the application fee is ₹500 for General category candidates and ₹250 for SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minority, and EBC categories. General candidates will receive a refund of ₹400 upon appearing for the CBT, while candidates from other eligible categories will receive a full refund. The refund will be processed after deducting applicable bank charges.

Selection Process

The selection for the RRB Paramedical recruitment will involve a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification (DV) and a medical examination.

The CBT will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, with a duration of 90 minutes. Candidates eligible for the scribe facility will be allotted 120 minutes. Each question will have four options, with only one correct answer. A penalty of one-third (1/3) of a mark will be deducted for incorrect answers.
