RRB Ajmer to Conduct Recruitment for Over 1,200 Station Masters
New Recruitment Process for Station Masters
In a groundbreaking move, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Ajmer has been entrusted with the task of conducting the recruitment examination for Station Masters for the first time. This month, the board is anticipated to release an official notification regarding the recruitment of more than 1,200 Station Masters.
This development is crucial for job seekers aiming for positions within the Railways. RRB Ajmer will oversee the entire recruitment process for Station Masters, a responsibility it has not held before. Reports indicate that the official recruitment advertisement for over 1,200 positions is expected to be published this month. Notably, this is the first time that the recruitment examination for Station Masters will be conducted independently, as previous recruitments were part of the RRB NTPC (Undergraduate) category, which has seen changes in regulations this year.
Currently, there are 21 Railway Recruitment Boards functioning nationwide. Thus, RRB Ajmer will have the significant responsibility of evaluating candidates from all 21 boards. It is estimated that around 2.5 million (25 lakh) candidates may participate in this recruitment initiative. Sanjeev Kumar, the Chairman of RRB Ajmer, has confirmed that the notification for this recruitment, which includes over 1,200 'Group C' positions, is expected to be released this month.
Examination Format and Structure
Single-Phase Computer-Based Examination Expected
The Railway Recruitment Board has indicated that the forthcoming recruitment examination for Station Masters may be conducted in a single phase, deviating from the traditional two-phase format. Reports suggest that the conventional written examination has been replaced; candidates will now take a single computer-based test instead of separate CBT-1 and CBT-2 stages. The written examination is expected to be worth 100 marks and last for 2 hours. It will include questions worth 60 marks on Basic Science, Mathematics, and Data Analysis; 20 marks for Logical Capability; and 20 marks for Mental Reasoning. Additionally, it has been noted that candidates who score well in this written examination will be shortlisted for a computer-based aptitude test, with eight times the number of vacancies being called for this stage.
