Rajasthan Police SI Recruitment Cancellation

Rajasthan Police Sub Inspector Recruitment 2021 Cancelled: The recruitment process for the Rajasthan Police Sub Inspector (SI) has been officially cancelled. This decision was made following the completion of arguments from both parties on August 14. On August 28, the Rajasthan High Court's division bench, led by Justice Sameer Jain, announced the cancellation of the Police SI Recruitment 2021. This action follows an investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) into a paper leak incident, which has led to the arrest of over 50 individuals involved.

Investigation Background: Allegations of irregularities and a paper leak prompted the state government to assign the investigation to the SIT, which subsequently brought the case to the High Court. As a result, all actions related to the examination, including the training of selected sub-inspectors and their subsequent postings, were halted.

Details of the Recruitment:

1. The examination was held in September 2021 to fill 859 vacancies for Sub-Inspector and Platoon Commander positions.

2. Multiple FIRs have been filed concerning the paper leak, leading to the arrest of approximately 80 individuals, including 50 trainees and two officials from the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC).

Merit List Manipulation:
The state government informed the court that those implicated in the paper leak have been apprehended, and around 40 trainee sub-inspectors, who acted as proxies, have been suspended. Petitioners argued that the question paper leak on the first day of the exam resulted in the exclusion of deserving candidates. For instance, some candidates scored between 300 to 310 out of 400, while the last candidate selected in the merit list scored 326.

Application Timeline:
The application process for the 859 SI positions was reopened on June 9, 2021, and continued until June 23. This reopening was mandated by an order granting a three-year age relaxation for candidates from economically weaker sections. The Rajasthan Public Service Commission was responsible for this recruitment.
