Priya Arya's Inspiring Journey from Setbacks to Success

Priya Arya's journey from a successful career in the Merchant Navy to facing job loss during the pandemic is a testament to resilience. After overcoming depression and initial setbacks in her government job preparations, she achieved a remarkable rank in the BPSC exams. Now pursuing an MBA and aiming for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, Priya's story inspires many to rise above challenges and strive for success.

Overcoming Life's Challenges

Life can present significant challenges, but perseverance often leads to success. Priya Arya, hailing from Patna, Bihar, exemplifies this spirit. An academically bright student, she scored 90% in her 10th grade and 80% in her 12th. Following her schooling, she pursued Nautical Science and secured a well-paying job in the Merchant Navy. However, the COVID-19 pandemic abruptly ended her employment, plunging her into a difficult phase.

Finding Inspiration in Adversity

During this tough time, Priya faced depression and felt uncertain about her future. Her parents discovered Khan Sir's motivational videos on YouTube, which inspired Priya to prepare for government job exams. She credits Khan Sir for helping her navigate through her darkest moments.

A Strong Academic Background

Priya's father worked in a government job, leading to frequent school changes during her childhood. Despite these transitions, she remained focused on her studies, achieving 90% in her 10th grade in 2012 and 80% in her 12th in 2014. After completing her higher education in Mumbai, she graduated in Nautical Science with around 80% in 2018 and chose to build a career in the Merchant Navy.

Job Loss and Mental Health Struggles

Shortly after starting her career in the Merchant Navy, the pandemic struck, resulting in job loss. This sudden change took a toll on her mental health. In a television interview, Priya shared that she fell into depression after losing her job. It was during this challenging period that her parents encouraged her to pursue government job preparations after watching Khan Sir's videos.

Learning from Initial Failures

Despite her efforts, Priya faced setbacks in her first attempt at the BPSC prelims, failing to clear the exam. However, instead of being discouraged, she used this experience to identify her weaknesses. She focused on self-study, online resources, and past exam papers to enhance her preparation.

Achieving Success in Her Second Attempt

Priya's hard work paid off when she secured the 263rd rank in the BPSC 69th Combined Competitive Examination on her second attempt. This achievement led to her selection as a Labor Enforcement Officer (LEO). Her journey from losing her job to overcoming depression and initial failures illustrates that setbacks do not define one's future.

Aiming for UPSC After MBA

Priya did not stop her educational pursuits there. In March 2026, she completed her MBA from the prestigious IIM Raipur. Now, she is setting her sights on passing the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Priya Arya's story serves as an inspiration for young individuals who may feel defeated by failures or challenging circumstances, proving that with the right support, direction, and relentless effort, one can transform their life.
