Opportunity for B.Tech Admissions in UP Without JEE or CUET
B.Tech Admission Update
B.Tech Admission: If you intended to pursue a B.Tech degree after completing your 12th grade but missed the JEE Mains, there's promising news for you. You can now enroll in B.Tech programs in Uttar Pradesh (UP). Preparations are underway for this initiative. Currently, there are 70,000 vacant B.Tech seats in UP, and efforts are being made to offer admissions without requiring JEE or CUET UG scores.
Let's delve into the details regarding the counseling rounds conducted for filling these B.Tech seats in UP and the new admission process without JEE and CUET.
AKTU's Counseling Process
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) oversees the counseling for B.Tech admissions in UP. Most engineering colleges in the state follow AKTU's counseling process. This year, AKTU has completed five rounds of counseling for B.Tech admissions. Reports indicate that 31,000 B.Tech seats were filled during these rounds, while 4,000 registrations were recorded for the sixth round. However, 70,000 seats remain unfilled, including approximately 1,900 seats in government engineering colleges. To address this, AKTU plans to initiate a special counseling process to fill these vacancies.
Special Counseling Initiative
AKTU has announced a special counseling program aimed at filling the vacant B.Tech seats. This initiative will consist of two rounds of counseling, where admissions will be based on JEE, CUET UG, and 12th-grade marks.
Candidates can register and pay fees for the first round of special counseling until August 28. The choice filling period will last until August 31, with seat allotments scheduled for September 2. The registration for the second round will occur on September 7 and 8, with fees due during this time. Choice filling for this round will be open until September 10, and seat allotments will be finalized on September 11.
