Changes to PG Diploma Courses

In addition, the NMC has announced plans to phase out all Post-Graduate (PG) diploma medical courses in the near future. These will be replaced with degree programs such as Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS).


A letter has been circulated to medical colleges and institutions regarding this transition. The NMC stated that the 2026-27 academic year will be the last for admissions into PG diploma courses, with no new enrollments permitted from the 2027-28 academic year onward.
