NTA's Preparations for Upcoming Exams

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is ramping up its preparations for the forthcoming examinations. On October 3, 2026, Deepti Gaur Mukerjee, the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, visited the NTA's newly established office. During her visit, she engaged with senior officials and evaluated the operational setups in place. The Ministry of Education indicated that the purpose of this visit was to ensure that the office facilities and administrative systems are adequately prepared for the upcoming exams.

New Office Location and Security Enhancements

The NTA's new office is situated on the fifth floor of the Government of India Press Building located on Minto Road, New Delhi. Previously, the agency operated from an office in Okhla. With the move to the new location, there is a heightened focus on enhancing security protocols for critical examination-related operations.

Importance of Exam Security

The government is implementing reforms at various levels to bolster the security and processes surrounding public examinations. A high-level task force, established in August 2026, has been assigned the task of reviewing reforms related to examination processes, security, and technology. This initiative aims to create a more systematic and secure examination environment.

Confidential Information Security Measures

At the new NTA office, significant measures are being taken to protect confidential examination information. Designated rooms have been allocated for sensitive operations, and an "air-gapped" computer system, which is not connected to the internet, is being utilized. Additionally, protocols requiring employees to deposit electronic devices are being enforced to prevent unauthorized access to critical information.

Security Management

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be involved in the security arrangements of the new office. Their deployment is aimed at preventing unauthorized access to sensitive areas and enhancing the overall security of the office, which is crucial given the confidential nature of examination-related tasks.

Impact on Upcoming Examinations

The NTA is responsible for conducting several significant entrance and eligibility examinations nationwide. Therefore, the inspection of the new office's facilities and administrative setup is directly related to the preparations for the upcoming examination cycle. Officials are concentrating on ensuring that the examination process is conducted in an organized and secure manner, while also effectively utilizing technology. The goal of these enhanced security and administrative measures is to facilitate the smooth conduct of examinations.
