NEET-UG 2026: Refund Process Activated Amid Re-Exam Announcement
Refund Facility for NEET-UG Candidates
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a refund option for candidates who participated in the NEET-UG 2026 exam that was cancelled on May 3. Students can now enter their bank details on the official site to request a refund of their exam fees.
As per the official announcement, the refund feature is accessible on the NEET-UG 2026 registration portal. Candidates who registered for the exam can log in with their application credentials to find the specific refund link and complete the necessary steps.
To process the refund, applicants must provide key banking information, including the account holder's name, bank name, account number, and IFSC code. They also have the option to upload a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque to ensure the accuracy of the provided details.
The NTA has stated that once the bank information is submitted, it will be considered final, and no changes will be permitted afterward. Candidates are urged to double-check all details before finalizing their submission.
The deadline for submitting bank details for the refund is set for May 27, 2026, at 11:50 P.M.
This refund process follows the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam due to allegations of irregularities and a leak of the question paper. This situation raised significant concerns among students and parents nationwide, prompting multiple investigations, including one by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The initial NEET-UG 2026 exam was held on May 3 for admissions into undergraduate medical programs across India. However, it was later annulled after reports indicated that certain individuals had allegedly accessed the question paper prior to the exam and distributed it to candidates for a fee.
So far, 11 individuals have been arrested in connection with this case.
In light of the cancellation, the NTA has announced that the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination will take place on June 21, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:15 P.M. (IST), which includes time for examination procedures.
Candidates are encouraged to frequently check the official NTA website for updates regarding the refund process and the re-examination schedule.
