Following concerns about possible paper leaks and irregularities during the May 3 exam, investigative agencies have initiated action. Details of the NEET UG 2026 Controversy

The NTA received reports of malpractice just days after the NEET UG exam. Investigations have identified suspects from regions including Sikar and Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, as well as Dehradun and Kerala. The Rajasthan Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) reported that a 150-page PDF containing around 400 questions circulated on WhatsApp before the exam. Initial findings suggest that approximately 120 of these questions were identical to those on the actual exam paper, with some reports indicating that nearly half of the 300 questions matched.

After the NEET-UG exam on July 17, 2022, the CBI filed a case against a solver gang. It was alleged that individuals used forged documents to impersonate actual students during the exam. Raids were conducted in multiple cities, leading to arrests and a formal chargesheet.

Irregularities in 2018

In 2018, a Delhi-based educational center was accused of manipulating the NEET exam by promising students assistance in passing for a hefty fee. Following a complaint, the CBI began an investigation into the allegations.
