Learning Through Multimedia
Designed as a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), this program will utilize multimedia-based interactive content. The curriculum will begin with fundamental concepts of science and focus on developing a deeper understanding of the subjects. The materials will also assist teachers in lesson planning and explaining complex concepts to students.
Eligibility for Application
According to NCERT, candidates holding a BSc degree, in-service teachers teaching science for classes 6 to 8, and those pursuing a diploma or degree in education are eligible to apply. Others directly involved in science education may also participate.
Clarification on Teacher Appointment Qualifications
NCERT has clarified that this course is intended for academic and professional development and does not equate to any qualifications required for teacher appointments. It cannot be used as a basis for exemption from other mandatory teacher qualifications.
Course Fee Structure
The one-time registration fee for the course is set at ₹2,000, which must be paid online. Following payment, candidates will typically receive information regarding the enrollment process via email within a week. It is advised that candidates use the same email ID for both payment and enrollment.
Assessment and Final Examination
At the end of each module, an objective test will be conducted, available for 15 days to allow participants to complete it at their convenience. Candidates who complete all 40 modules and participate in all tests will be eligible for the final examination, which will be time-bound, with the date to be announced later.
E-Certificate for Successful Candidates
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an e-certificate titled 'Teaching of Science at Middle Stage' from NCERT. The entire program will be conducted online, requiring a laptop or desktop with an internet connection.
