National Teachers Award 2025: Honoring Excellence in Education

The awards recognize their efforts to enhance educational quality and inspire others. Each awardee will receive a cash prize, a silver medal, and a certificate of appreciation. National Awards to Teachers 2025


Overview: This year, on Teachers' Day (September 5), President Draupadi Murmu will honor 45 exceptional educators from across India as part of the National Teachers Award 2025. The Ministry of Education's Department of School Education and Literacy has published the list of awardees.


The aim of this prestigious award is to acknowledge teachers who have made remarkable contributions to education and to motivate others in the profession.


Selected Teachers by State

Distribution of Awardees:
Among the selected teachers, 33 hail from Maharashtra and Bihar. Additionally, two teachers each have been chosen from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Notably, five teachers from PM Shri Schools are also among the recipients. This award recognizes educators from various states and union territories who have significantly enhanced educational quality and student development.

The selection of awardees followed a comprehensive evaluation process at district, state, and national levels. Each of the 45 teachers will be honored during the ceremony. The National Awards for Teachers were first established in 1958, with guidelines updated in 2018.


Each awardee will receive a cash prize of ₹50,000, a silver medal, and a certificate of appreciation.
