Exams Delayed Due to Unrest

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBSE) has announced the postponement of the Class 12 board examinations in the West Garo Hills district. This decision comes in response to clashes that occurred today between tribal and non-tribal groups. According to reports, the unrest was sparked by disputes related to the nomination process for local council elections. The official statement revealed that the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) exams for Music and Human Science, scheduled for March 11 and 12, have been postponed. Notably, this cancellation affects only the West Garo Hills district, while exams in other districts of Meghalaya will proceed as planned.

Cancelled Papers

As per the board's recognized director and examination controller, T.R. Lalu, the HSSLC exams for Music on March 11 and Human Science on March 12 have been specifically cancelled for West Garo Hills. These exams will be rescheduled to dates that will be announced later.
