Exciting Job Opportunities in Maharashtra

For those seeking government employment, an exciting opportunity has emerged in Maharashtra. The state has announced the recruitment of over 2,600 positions, and interested candidates are encouraged to apply without delay.

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of 2,619 Group C positions. The online application process commenced on June 27, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications via the Commission's official website. Other positions include 461 Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors, 282 Tax Assistants, 9 Industry Inspectors, and 3 Technical Assistants. In total, 2,619 vacancies will be filled.

Vacancy Breakdown by Position

  • Tax Assistant – 282 posts

  • Industry Inspector – 9 posts

  • Clerk-Typist – 1,864 posts

Changes to the Exam Pattern

In conjunction with the recruitment, the MPSC has announced notable modifications to the examination format. Starting in 2027, the optional subject papers will be eliminated from the Maharashtra Civil Services (Gazetted Group A and Group B) Main Examination. This change means candidates will no longer need to study for two optional subjects during the Main Examination.

Several states, including Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, have already removed optional subjects from their state service Main Examinations. Maharashtra is now following suit, aiming to simplify and standardize the examination process.

Significant Changes Ahead

Another major update is that the Combined Preliminary Examination is scheduled for September 27, 2026, and will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the first time, transitioning from the traditional offline format. This online approach is expected to enhance transparency and provide candidates with a modern examination experience.

Candidates who pass the preliminary examination will advance to the next phase of the recruitment process. Therefore, it is crucial for candidates to begin their exam preparations promptly. Additionally, when applying, ensure that all required documents, photographs, and signatures are uploaded correctly to prevent application rejection.
